Ogling rhymed vignettes is rather
easier on ears than on eyes
and I guess the wherefores or whys
are really a lot more blather.

What beauty there is in regrets
is best savored from a distance
maybe we should lend assistance
rather than ogle rhymed vignettes.

Its own beauty struggle begets
but I’d rather read poetry
and thus appreciate for free
the beauty of others’ regrets.

Since persisting is our duty
a willingness to keep going
through fog and bog is knowing
struggle begets its own beauty.

Who knows the reason we exist
but the answer doesn’t matter much
in our regular lives as such
since our duty is to persist.

I’ve agreed for the mostly part
that squiggles are simply sketches,
but the lines are starting to stretch
into designs I could call art.If my designs could be called art,
I need to keep the shapes confined
and stay within popular lines
but squiggles are beings apart.Being apart from art squiggles
don’t have to be neat or too smart
but they do need a large, large heart
to leap to life from a scribble.A squiggle doesn’t leap to life whole
from a pencil and a blank page,
but are like players on the stage
creating themselves through a role.Creating oneself through a role
can be hard on the creator,
but who knows which job is greater,
giving or receiving the soul.Giving or receiving a soul
is granted to any artist
when color and line persist
long enough in time to be whole.

When thoughts churn through a wild new twist
ideas burn wide holes through our brain
and while the pain makes us complain
it is the reason we exist.

Commercial demands we resist
by thinking around the big box
standing proud in only our socks
while thoughts churn through a wild new twist.

To care using fruit from our hands
we can recycle and reuse
materials that stir our muse
to resist commercial demands.

Giving gifts with artistic flair
my family loves crafts and arts
and believes handmade is one’s heart
using fruit from your hands to care.
